The early church in the region of Galatia was guilty of a problem that still plagues a disturbing percentage of professing Christianity today - namely, the erroneous teaching that law keeping or religious activity is either necessary for salvation or for daily living. Both are an offense to the preaching of the cross. Apostle Paul minces no words in this epistle calling those that would fall for legalism as "foolish" and having been "bewitched" and those that teach it as being "accursed."
